Edmund Robert DuMond

Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1942, Ed moved to South Florida with his family in 1955. He attended college at Florida State University where he received a bachelors’ degree in business administration in 1964 and met his future wife Linda. Following college, Ed served four years in the U.S. Navy, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. He lived for 28 years in Stuart, FL where he worked as a Vice President at R.V. Johnson Independent Insurance Agency. Ed and Linda moved to Tallahassee upon his retirement in 2005.

Ed enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an ardent Seminole and enjoyed attending FSU sporting events and participating in Seminole Boosters. He was an active member of the Rotary Club of Tallahassee, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) and St. John’s Episcopal Church, where he was a faithful usher.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Burrell DuMond; his son, Mike DuMond (Beth), Tallahassee; and his daughter, Lauren DuMond Kelley (Jimmy), Portland, Oregon. Other survivors include his grandchildren, Erin and Paige DuMond and Elon Grace and Reilly James Kelley; and his sister, Lourdes Murphy of Lady Lake, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary DuMond, his sister Rita Pisano, and his brother Joseph DuMond.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 8, at St. John’s Episcopal Church. A reception will immediately follow the service. The family will also receive friends on September 7 from 6pm to 8pm, at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312.
