Sgt. Maj. (ret.) Eddie Lawson, a resident of Tallahassee for the last seven years, passed away October 13, 2022. A thirty-year veteran of the United States Army, he served this country proudly during three wars: World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
While residing in Tallahassee with his daughter and son-in-law Corliss and Edward Moragne, Jr. and enjoying his two grandchildren Edward and Brittany, he became a part of the community. Sgt. Maj. (ret.) Lawson enjoyed the friendship and acquaintance of so many here- from the wonderful and kind members of Bethel AME, the Sunday brunch group, the lunch bunch at Wahnish Way and Orange Avenue McDonalds, the fellowship of the Rattlers who sat in box CC at Bragg Stadium, and so many more he met along the way.
He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life his daughters Corliss Lawson Moragne (Edward) and Pamela Lawson Wood (Kerry), grandchildren Edward and Brittany, the Alexander family of California, Jackson family of New Orleans, Moragne/McKenzie family of Tampa, James family of Tallahassee, Lewis family of New York, and a host of friends and acquaintances of Tallahassee.
He will be buried at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas.
