Donna was born in Montgomery, AL on June 8, 1960. She grew up in the Auburn/Opelika area where she graduated from Auburn High School, and remained in the area until moving to Tallahassee 25 years ago.
Donna was a gifted hairdresser and had a thriving business and loyal clientele in the Tallahassee area. She married Gus Hendrick on July 25, 1993 in Tallahassee and they owned A Cut Above hair salon together until 2008. The couple’s business, A Cut Above, was voted the #1 privately owned hair salon in Tallahassee by Nexxus Corp for many years.
Donna is survived by her husband Gus Hendrick; her mother and step-father: Mary and Rex Hamm of Tallahassee; two sisters: Mary Lynn Anderson of Bessemer, AL, Debbie Payne of Jacksonville; as well as her beloved pet Kisses.
Donna was preceded in death by her father: Moses B. Rushton in 1964, and recently by her two beloved pets: Mini-Skirt, and Hugs in a tragic house fire.
Donna was a loyal friend to many in the Tallahassee area and will be missed for her kind heart and gentle spirit.
