My sincerest condolences! Ms. Price was the best teacher! Because if her, I am an English teacher now. She taught me so much about language and LAUGHING!

I was so sorry to hear of the unexpected death of Diane Chancy. I worked at Leon High for over 20 years and she was one of the best teachers that I've ever worked with.  As a retiree since 2014, I've lost contact with several of my colleagues over the years.
I know that she made a difference in so many student's lives and I feel fortunate to have known her and taught her son Tanner.
Rest in Peace Diane, We will always cherish your memory and contributions to Leon High School.

It was such a gift to have had Mrs. Chancy as a teacher. She would fill the room with laughter almost daily and had us on the edge of our seats during her lectures. She challenged us,  comforted us, and shared her light with us.

So sorry to hear of Diane's passing.  She was such a sweet person and always so kind to me when I knew her so many years ago through your mom and Aunt Lorraine.   We'll be praying for you and your family as you search for your new normal.



Mrs. Chancy was such an incredible woman. She was there for me in my struggles, and was always such a light in a dark world. May her memory be a blessing and her family find peace and healing during this incredibly hard time 💕

In my long lifetime, I have known three outstanding teachers.  Diane Chancy was one of them.  She was also a wonderful loyal friend and a dedicated scholar.  I remember her trying to walk through a hallway crowded with students, and shouting "Wide load--coming through!"  That kind of honesty and enthusiasm endeared her to her students.

To Diane's family,
I was saddened to hear about Diane's death. It seems the circle of Price Cousins continues to shrink. I knew Diane as smart and talented and I'm sorry we hadn't been in touch in recent years.  May your memories bring you comfort in the difficult days ahead.

Mrs. Chancy was the best teacher I ever had. In my whole life. She believed in me, so much that it helped me believe in myself. In all my years I never experienced someone with such a passion for teaching and genuine love for her students. She had no trouble telling you either! She was the kind and impressive teacher that made you want to impress her. The educator that made students feel seen, and heard. Having a problem? She would use her free time to listen to you. 
She gave me an award for a short story I wrote my freshman year. She told me writing was my gift and that I could never stop. I still have a little coaster she gave me as a gift on my coffee table. It says “Begin each day as if it were on purpose” -Mary Ann Radmacher
She is one of the three people mentioned as a dedication in my first book of poetry and the only teacher I think of almost daily. I will never forget Mrs. Chancy!!! Thank you so much.. Thank god for you.

I knew Diane when she was still Ms Price .  I worked with her and John at Rickards HS. It was so much fun to see the early romance. And then they married and then they left Florida. I don’t remember which state they moved to.. And then they came back to Tallahassee and Diane taught at Leon high school and once again we worked together but this time at Leon.  I remember Diane fondly  at the pep rally‘s at Leon, wearing her white overalls with red paw prints all over it. And she had lots of lots of pom-poms and red beads that she gave away to the students. She was an awesome person and an awesome teacher to work with. I will miss her very much!

Shocked and saddened to hear of Diane’s passing. She showed kindness & Christian love as our neighbor from the first day we moved in next door.  Our Piney Z community has lost a true gem. Our condolences to John & the Chancy family. The Tanners🙏🏽

From your former brother-in-law, Gary Wannall, you were a gift to everyone and all of the students that you taught over the years you will be missed. God bless. 

John Robinson Class of 14 ; I am shocked at the news of your passing. You were my favorite teacher at Leon and the only reason I gave half a shit about school at a time where I was angry and rebellious. I wish your family peace
