David H. Humphreys, age 61, passed away February 19, 2014 after an extended illness. He was born in Emporium, Pennsylvania to the late Raymond and Gladys Humphreys and raised in Seneca Falls, New York.
He served in the United States Air Force and graduated from Auburn Community College with a degree in criminal justice. He moved to Tallahassee in 1985.
He worked in the law enforcement field in both New York and Florida, spending his last years with Disc Village in Tallahassee. He was an avid gardner and radio controlled helicopter enthusiast. David was a private pilot, scuba diver and loved salt water fishing. He attended Thomasville Road Baptist Church.
Mr. Humphreys is survived by his wife of 26 years, Leigh; 2 sons and a daughter: David A. Humphreys (Erin) of Nashville, Tennessee, Michael Humphreys (Jenny) of Seneca Falls, New York, and Jennifer Taylor of Ocala, Florida; brother Raymond Humphreys (Debbie) of Tallahassee and 11 Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 22, 2014, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home on Timberlane Road. A private graveside service will follow at 2 p.m.
