Tallahassee — Clinton W. Murrill, 82, left this earth to begin eternity with Jesus Christ in Heaven. He was called “home” in the early morning hours on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at his home following declining health issues.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Grace Louise (Bulthuis) Murrill; his daughter, Audrey (Murrill) Vowell; his son, Jason Murrill and his wife Cindy; five grandchildren, Kayla, 25; Jack,12; Jayla,12; Ashley, 9; Bridget, 9; and many friends that he has met throughout the years.
Born in Plant City, Florida, the son of Dan and Clara Murrill, he was the youngest of seven siblings. Mr. Murrill was a longtime resident of Tallahassee, he also lived 7 years in Dowling Park, FL and 3 years in Advance, NC before returning to his home town, Tallahassee, in January of this year.
After serving in the military, he married his wife, and started his family soon thereafter. He was employed as a diesel machinic for Trailways Bus Lines for most of his career, ending with Greyhound Bus Lines after their merger.
Although Mr. Murrill was on continuous oxygen, he still enjoyed playing his harmonica at his church during their song service. He enjoyed hearing good preaching and singing and made it a goal to be at his church every chance he could. He also had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles which he rode throughout his life until his health wouldn’t allow it. In his later years, Mr. Murrill enjoyed making beautiful Bolo ties out of polished rocks and giving them as gifts, he also enjoyed listening to audio books.
Please remember his family, especially his wife in your prayers. Although we know he is in a wonderful place, he will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held Saturday, October 7 at 9:30am with funeral services beginning at 10:30am at the Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home. They are located at 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312.
