I met Chad Dec. 1991...  we were unloading semi trucks  at Chili's Gill & Bar, Okemos, MI prior to them opening.  He was going to be a dishwasher,  me a bartender looking to get into management.  The trucks were full of plates, dishes, pots, pans, tables & chairs... everything needed to open and operate a restaurant.   Chad was this  "heavy metal loving type punk kid",  who had an attitude about him , or wanted you to think, "he didn't give a sh%#" .   As a 25 year old who had, "seen a thing or two"...  I liked Chad right away and knew that "attitude" was not the real Chad.  I befriended Chad and took a real liking to him,  I felt like a big brother  type or a "dad" like thing...   Although my nickname at Chili's was Gary Mac,  Chad called me Papa Bear from time to time,  and I'd usually respond calling him Baby Bear.... without it ever being said,  I think we had a mutual "love" for each other.  Well, that's how I felt anyway...  
I worked with Chad for 7 years at Chili's, watching him grow from "dish dog", eventually becoming one of Chili's lead cooks and trainers in the kitchen.   Even going back to school and starting to take college classes.   There was many hurdles along the way, work and life trials and tribulations he dealt with (some with a kick in the pants to get his sh%# together),  but also great joys ....Dylan, you being one of them !   I never saw Chad walk so tall, with the biggest smile and chest pumped out so big the first time he brought you into Chili's.  He was a proud Dad !!   Life events took me away from Chili's, but I would stop  in from time to time.... stick my head in the door to see who was on the cook line....  Chad was always one of the guys I'd be looking for.    When Chad was finally gone from Chili's,  I was a little sad,  But also very proud that he had "gotten out" of the restaurant business and had spread his wings to start a new life.      You will be missed Baby Bear, but we will meet again.  R.I.P. my friend, R.I.P.  

We were roommates grown up and we worked together at Chili's Bar and Grill in Okemos. He was a great guy and awesome friend. Made some good memories together and will miss him. Rest In Peace my friend until we meet again.

Chad inspired me each and every day. He was so giving, thoughtful, and an incredibly hard worker. His love of animals and his faith in God made a difference in this world. Chad was the love of my life and I will always be thankful for the time we had together. I am so blessed to have been apart of his life. I love you Blue and miss you with all my heart. I will see you again. Rest In Peace 💙💚💙💚
