Carlton Thomas Garner Sr., born March 20, 1925, passed away November 1, 2011.
Carlton was a wounded POW World War II veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was the owner of Garner Furniture Company for 25 years.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in the Chapel of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road. A reception will follow in the MeadowWood room of the funeral home.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Hartsfield Garner; four children, Carlton Thomas Garner, Jr., Peggy Garner Carruthers, Dennis Russell Garner, and Craig Wayne Garner; three grandsons, Evan Scott Carruthers, Sebastien Russell Garner, August Zachary Garner; and his brother, Daniel L. Garner.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, MacArthur Russell Garner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Attention Gift Processing, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250.
He will always be remembered as a dedicated, hard working and loving husband and father. "You were a wonderful provider and the rock of our family. We love you and will miss you."
