Betty Jean Cook, 85, of Tallahassee died Thursday (6/2) at Broadview Assisted Living in Tallahassee. A native of St. Marks, FL she has lived in the area all her life. Betty had been a preschool teacher and worked with Parkway Baptist Church. She was always very active with her church life and was currently a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and spending as much time with family as she could.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband: James A.; a son: Robbie; grandson: Christopher; brother: Bobby Oxendine; and sisters: Katheryn Tate and Dianne Posey; she is survived by her sister, Norma (Maurice) McKee of Blairsville, Ga., sister-in-law, Linda Sullivan of Marianna; sons: Jim (Fran) of Owens Cross Roads, AL, Mike of Tallahassee, Jeff (Jan) of Tallahassee; daughter-in-law: Dotty of Marianna; grandchildren: Bryan and Brandon of Marianna, Stephanie (Eric) Rivera of Orlando, Tricia (Landon) Wise of Niceville, Taylor of Tallahassee; and five great-grandchildren.
