Barbara Ruggiero Reis

Barbara Ruggiero Reis, 75, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away on November 16, 2023. She departed on what would have been her 55th wedding anniversary with her beloved late husband, Robert Reis, who preceded her in death in 2002. She was born on February 2, 1948, in Chicago, IL. Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Barbara is survived by her children: Shannon Knabb (husband Mike Knabb), Joseph Reis, Kristina Reis, and Rebecca Reis (partner Mike Malafronte). She was also a loving grandmother to her [favorite] granddaughter, Andrea Grace Reis, who is engaged to be married (Dominic Koenders).

Barbara had a fulfilling career and retired from Florida State University's Department of The Humanities. She was a dedicated employee who made a lasting impact on the university community.

In her free time, Barbara was an avid reader and a life-long learner. She enjoyed immersing herself in books and expanding her knowledge. She was also known to indulge in occasional conspiracy theories, sparking lively discussions with her loved ones.

Barbara touched the lives of so many with her kindness and compassion. She leaves behind cherished memories that will forever linger in the hearts of family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 10AM ET at Culley's Meadowwood Funeral Home, located at 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312.

Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will be cherished forever.
