He was born May 16, 1939 in Everett, MA, the second born to Edward and Mabel Campbell. He attended grade school in Everett and graduated from Everett High School where he played on the Football team. Shortly after high school, Arthur enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country faithfully as a radio operator and received a medal for good conduct. He served until his honorable discharge a few years later.
Arthur worked professionally as a truck driver and retired after 35 years from JP Food Service. Prior to his retirement, he received several awards for his hard work and dedication including an award for driving one million miles without an accident.
After his retirement, he and the love of his life, Diane, decided that they would make Florida their home in 2002. He enjoyed retirement and lived the very definition of it. He enjoyed many days playing golf with friends and driving Diane shopping where he’d sit in the car reading the newspaper waiting for her to finish. He also enjoyed traveling, especially cruises.
A quiet man with an amazing sense of humor, Arthur was known as the “King of the One Liners”. He was witty and could make anyone laugh.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 43 years, Diane (Glowacki). Siblings, Edward Campbell and Dorothy Prudente and niece Rita Behnke.
Arthur is survived by his loving daughter, Lisa Campbell (Scott Fels); nieces, Patricia Payne and Joanne Smith; nephew, Michael Campbell; and longtime companion, Rosemary Rice as well as many other loving extended family and friends. He is also survived by his best friend and fur baby Mercedes.
