Anna Ruth Owen Kickliter was born in Eustis, FL, on June 25, 1928. She was the daughter of the late M. Martin and Elizabeth Ward Owen. Anna moved to Tampa, FL, in 1943.
"A TIME TO PLANT"
Anna accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 7 and was active in the Baptist Church all her life. Her parents taught her to memorize Bible scriptures at an early age. By age 16, she was teaching children in Sunday School and taught in the church her entire life. She graduated from Hillsboro High School, Tampa, FL, in 1945. She was very active at her high school in various clubs.

Anna graduated from Mars Hill College in Ashville, NC, with a degree in Elementary Education, excelling in many activities including drama, Delta Psi Omega, and the Hilltop staff. She took several Christian studies to become proficient to teach others God's Word. She first was employed as a pastor's secretary at Riverside Baptist Church in Tampa, then by the Peninsular Telephone Company in the accounting department and later as a supervisor in the General Telephone Directory Company. For the next 5 years, she was a homemaker for her daughter, Karen. She taught elementary education very briefly in Palm Beach County, Florida. In Tallahassee, Florida, she was an administrative assistant to several state agencies, among them the business office of Florida State University, assistant to the director of the University Union. From there, she moved to the FSU School of Music as the assistant to the director and later to the Department of Geology. She was so proficient at her duties she was in great demand with other departments, including the Department of Natural Resources from which she retired in 1990.
“A TIME TO LOVE”
On June 20, 1953, Anna married William Curtis Kickliter at Riverside Baptist Church in
Tampa, FL, where they had fallen in love. They have been married over years and God truly blessed Bill with a virtuous woman whose price is above rubies (Prov 31: 10). They had one daughter, Karen Kickliter Simmons, who had Brian Simmons and Brittany Simmons Johnson. After retirement, Anna and her husband traveled extensively throughout the Middle East, Europe, and other parts of the world.

Anne was dedicated to the Lord and spent her life ministering to women and children through her church, the Gideons, and other Christian organizations for about 60 years. She and her husband ministered in Coral Springs Baptist Church for 20 years after their retirement. Later, they moved to Tallahassee, FL, and are members of Immanuel Baptist Church.
“A TIME TO DIE"
Anna Kickliter left her earthly home at Westminster Oaks Health Center in Tallahassee, FL, to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at age 93.
The Kickliter family will receive friends at 1pm on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road – Tallahassee.
The celebration of Anna's home-going will follow at 2pm with a graveside service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Gideons International or Immanuel Baptist Church of Tallahassee.
