I am blessed to have known "Aunt 'Nita" my whole life- I was a teen when I figured out she wasn't actually my aunt. However, she was as much family as any other family member! She is missed a great deal- I know she's keeping an eye on all of us. <3

Anita was without a doubt a very amazing woman.  She had the ability to make anyone and everyone laugh.  There was never a dull moment when you were around Anita.  Over the years I would think of her often, even though we only got to see each other every now and again, she was in my heart and mind.  She was not the kind of person that you could meet and not remember her.  She had a heart of gold, a laugh that was beautiful and a soul of a saint.  Anita you will be missed by many.  You always were a true friend to many, you loved like no other person I have ever known and if you were lucky enough to have her as your friend you could always count on her for anything and everything.  She was a wonderful support, a person that could lift your spirits and one that cried with you.  I have said that Anita left a footprint in my heart that had a great impact in my life.  I love you Anita and one day I will see you again.  Have a wonderful time and keep them laughing.

What can I say...my sister Anita was bigger than life in my eyes. I thank God for blessing our family and lives with Anita. She was a remarkable sister, a wonderful and kind friend, a compassionate and loving person. Her heart truly cared about people and her beloved rescue animals. She loved her family so much and after our parents passed away, she became "Mom", always making sure we, her siblings, were okay and if we needed her for anything, she would be there. We always knew that Anita was on our side, she was our greatest fan, how blessed were we?!  Anita, Janet and I always shared a room growing up and that continued into our grown-up lives in our wanting to spend as much time with each other as we could. We always enjoyed each others company and always brought laughter into everything we did.  Wonderful times, precious memories! To say that we miss her is an understatement. The hole in our hearts is huge and the pain of loss, is at times, unbearable.  When the three of us girls would go down to visit our brother Skip, we would tell him that (depending on our sizes at the time) either The 3 Little Pigs or The Three Stooges were coming to visit him!  When our sweet Anita drew her last breath, Janet and I were holding her hands, and I looked at Janet and said " What are The Three Stooges going to do without our Moe"?  Please pray for Janet, Skip, Walter and I, as well as all of our family, as we learn to live our lives without our "Moe". We love and miss you, Anita.  See you again when to Lord calls us home.

Anita had a witty and wonderful sense of humor.  Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, we met while both rehabbing at HealthSouth.  When I first met her, she said, "You look terrible.  "And you look good?" I countered.  I told her she was my third roommate there, and she clapped, saying, "Do I get a prize?"  I remember asking her, "What are you in here for?" and she said, "My lungs, COPD."  "Oh," I said, "You smoke?"  "Gee, how'd you guess?" was her reply.  I got numerous other such sarcastic responses in the 4 1/2 years I was blessed to know Anita, whom I dearly miss.  Bev D

I will always remember Anita from the old days when I lived with Janice and her parents in Miami. We had so many good times sitting at the table playing cards and just talking. She was always there with a "funny" and giving advice, and I remember I asked her a lot. 
My heart goes out to Janice, Janet and Skip, I know how it hurts to lose a sibling. But we have our memories.

I was so blessed to have Anita as my older sister. Anita always tried to keep this family after the passing of our parents and she did a great job. We love and miss her so much. We are so very sorry about the passing of this gentle, kind person.  Anita and my mom, Denise Cawthon, loved all living things vulnerable and in need. They never met anyone one, two-legged or four-legged, they wouldn't help and succor.  Please know Anita did beautiful works on this earth and her gentleness will continue through those who received her grace.  Deepest sympathy to all for your loss.  Genny Rosenberg and family
