Amber Lee Beard

Amber Lee Beard, 83, of Tallahassee, passed away February 3, 2012, after a fall causing a brain injury, at Big Bend Hospice House, surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Beard was born on October 8, 1928 in Grand Ridge, FL, to Jeff & Annie Bryant.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Arthur "Grady" Beard; and children, Fred E. Creel of Hosford, FL, (predeceased) Franklin D. Duxbury of Alaska, Alice Kinsey Cummings and husband James, of Greenwich, CT, Danna Kinsey Scott and husband Carey, of Chattahoochee, FL, Lynelle "Nena" Prior of Woodville, FL, and Tony Hood of Tallahassee, FL. Stepchildren: Marvin Beard and wife Sandy of Tallahassee, FL, Gary Beard of Woodville, FL, Dale Beard of Atlanta, GA, Gail Beard Davis and husband Paul of Crawfordville, FL; siblings, Golden Bryant and (predeceased) wife Alice of Tallahassee, FL, Davis Bryant and wife Joan of Tallahassee, FL, Emma Rea Wilson and (predeceased) husband Carl Wilson of Hosford, FL, (predeceased siblings) Jossie "Big Mama" and Leon Burns, Wilson and Teenie Bryant, Camilla and Jerry Ingram and Raymond and Ruby Bryant. Also, 24 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Amber was a homemaker and fond of gardening and cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, aunt, friend, and neighbor. Known for her generosity towards others, she supported many a friend and family in their time of need.

The funeral services will be held at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahasse, FL, Monday, February 6, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation for friends and family will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The family will be receiving friends in celebration of Amber's life at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home following the burial at Tallahassee Memorial Gardens.
