Alyssa Renée Richardson

Alyssa Renée Richardson was born to Lannie Richardson and Felecia Dix-Richardson, on April 2, 2004, in Tallahassee Florida. She transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.

Alyssa was educated in the public schools of Leon County where she excelled academically and in the Arts. She was an honor student at Lincoln High School and was a member of the Winter Guard and the Lincoln High School Marching Band Color Guard. Alyssa was dual enrolled at Tallahassee Community College (TCC). She was slated to graduate from Lincoln High School in 2022.

Alyssa previously attended Buck Lake Elementary and Swift Creek Middle School. During elementary and middle school, she was an academic scholar. While enrolled at Buck Lake, she was member of the WBLS Morning News Team. While attending middle school, she played the French horn in the Swift Creek Middle School Band.

At a very early age, Alyssa exhibited a keen sense of curiosity and a never-ending thirst for knowledge. She was a voracious reader. The countless books that she read invigorated and elevated her adventurous free spirit. Alyssa expressed an interest in music at an early age. She began playing the piano at age six. This love for the piano continued for seven years.

Her academic prowess and her musical talents served as the foundation for her quest to always give her best. Though Alyssa was blessed with multifarious gifts and talents, she acquired other skill-sets from her parents and her sister. She was extremely creative and specialized in eclectic décor; she was an excellent baker; she had a unique sense of style; and she dressed to impress.

Alyssa was a beautiful, sweet, and kind-hearted person. She became an engaging, spirited, socially conscience young woman, who spoke her mind candidly and passionately. She was a devoted member of student organizations that were committed to serving the community, including “Pearls of Perfection”. Alyssa loved animals and volunteered at the Leon County Animal Shelter.

Alyssa was completing her dual enrollment courses at TCC and preparing to enter College. In her recently prepared essay to accompany her college admission application, she expressed an intense sense of empathy for the less fortunate, the oppressed, and especially for those whose lives have been cut short or upended because of social injustice.

Alyssa recently found her voice as a Humanitarian who wanted to make this world a better place. Her goal was to attend college, major in pre-law, get accepted and graduate from law school, and become a civil rights attorney.

Uncles: Charles Larkin (AKA Uncle/Grandpa), Dublin, Georgia; George Dix, Jr., Bayonne, New Jersey; Willie (Theresa) West, Kansas City, Kansas; Freddie Briggs, Gilbert, Arizona; Lonnie Richardson, Troy, Alabama; Kim (Dorothy) Richardson, Troy, Alabama; Godmother: Mary Johnson, Troy, Alabama; and God Grandparents: John and Louisa Thomas, Tallahassee, Florida; and several other beloved relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents: George and Molene Dix and paternal grandparents: Sam and Mary Alice Richardson.
