Truman began his life’s journey on December 7th, 1927 in Mulberry, AR, the only child, and son of Elmer and Carrie (McCoy) Davis. Truman loved being a rancher and there was no better time spent than out with the horses and cows working. He was a concrete finisher by trade, and in his down time loved reading old westerns or watching the greatest cowboy of all, John Wayne in a western movie. Any time he was able he would spend time with family, and he loved his children and grandchildren more than they could understand. Truman was quick to share his knowledge with anyone he felt needed it and had a few tell, tell signs, his ears would glow red, to let you know he was very serious. He was not a man that you wanted to deliver bad news to if it could be avoided, but always let you know things would be ok.
Truman completed his journey on Friday, March 27th, 2015 at his home in Tahlequah at the age of 87. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Truman is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Norma Pohfal along with second wife, JoAnn Robison.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Edna Louise Davis, two sons, Ronnie Davis and wife Beverly and Lonnie Davis and wife Janice and one daughter, Trish Copeland and husband Kevin all of Tahlequah. His legacy lives on through his seven grandchildren, Debbie Thomas, Veronica Murphy, Lorita Conn, Jody Davis, Brittany Davis, Dylan Copeland and Holley Copeland; ten great-grandchildren, Stephen Thomas, Connor Thomas, Mackinzie Thomas, David Murphy, Haley Murphy, Katlyn Davis, Kayley Murphy, Tyson Murphy, Tayla Conn and Colbie Strickland; one great great-grandchild, Maddox Thomas as well as a host of many friends and loved ones.
