Thomas Stokes Sanders, or Bosso to his family and friends, was born on February 10th, 1934, in Braggs, OK, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Lucy (Lyman) Sanders. Bosso joined a family of three brothers and five sisters. He attended school at Seneca Indian School; until he was required to help his family make a living. At the age of 17, he attended a Christian Camp Meeting and gave his life to Christ. Bosso read his Bible and remained faithful his entire life. Bosso worked on the family farm, riding horses and roping cattle. He was talented and creative, once creating a wagon to haul hay and his family to use without a blueprint. Besides farming, he worked all over the US as a construction worker, and ironworker. He was quiet and reserved, always doing things his own way, and keeping to the schedule. Anytime outdoors was good for Bosso, and he walked daily and lifted weights. He wasn’t one for being in crowds, but every chance he had with his family and friends was really special. He had a wry sense of humor, and could make you grin with his witty sense of fun. He passed from this life on September 29th, 2016 in Muskogee, OK after attaining the age of 82 years. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Susan Lyman, his paternal grandparents, Louis and Maude Sanders, his parents, four brothers, Herman, Sequoyah, and Louis Sanders, and Shelby Sanders along with two sisters, Margaret Redmon and Viola Conrad and two baby sisters, Mary Jane Sanders and Lillian Sanders.
Those left to cherish his memory include three sisters, Ruby Jordan of Muskogee, Rachel Austin of Moore, and Delilah Kelley and husband Sherman of Muskogee, OK. Bosso also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
