Scott James Gladd was born on November 18th, 1975 in Muskogee, OK, the son of Paul B. and Darlene R. (Wilcox) Gladd. He grew up with two brothers and one sister, Andy, Bennie and Jolene. He attended school and graduated from Hulbert High School. He worked for the Tahlequah Daily Press for a time, and then decided to follow his dream of working for the entertainment industry as a horse trainer. He worked everywhere in the state from Blue Ribbon Downs to Will Rogers Downs, from Fair Meadows in Tulsa, to Remington Park In Oklahoma City, Scott knew and understood horses and how to make them deliver. Everyone sought him out to work with their beautiful racers. He also worked for Dee Keener as an assistant trainer and farm hand in Inola. He had a way with animals, they knew he liked them and they worked for him. He cherished his time on the “Gate Crew.” You could normally find him in the company of his beloved canine companion, “Chappo” or hanging out with his cousin, Trish Gladd-Waddell. Scott was hard headed, super intelligent, and had a large heart, meaning he would do anything to help someone that needed his help. He liked to play an occasional game of pool or cards, and liked playing virtual reality games. Any show on TV about history would have been of interest and he could play a guitar with the best of them. He married Kassie Gladd on May 5th, 2007, and even though the marriage fell through, they remained the best of friends. He made sure his family knew how much he loved them and cared for them. Scott was a Christian by faith. The Lord called Scott to greener pastures on December 31st, 2022 in Tahlequah, OK. Scott was 47 years old.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother and father, and several cousins and relatives.
Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers and sister, Andy Gladd and wife Marshel of Tahlequah, Bennie Gladd and wife Becky of Tahlequah, and Jolene Gladd also of Tahlequah.
