Ruby Louise Rost-Nina

Ruby Louise Rost, or “Nina”, as she was known to her family and friends was born June 22, 1940 the daughter of Bertha and Sprazel “Doug” Douglas in Wynne, Arkansas. She was raised in a home with three sisters, Patsy Belvin, Ermma Moody, and Bobby Jones, as well as three brothers, Larry Douglas, Wayne Douglas, and Dale Douglas. Ruby met and then later married the love of her life Joe Vester Rost on December 11, 1956; they were happily married for over 40 years until his passing on February 4, 1997.

Ruby truly enjoyed her life with her family and planning big events to do with them around every holiday. She was especially fond of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom to the surprise of her children, Ruby believed could do no wrong. She loved spending time outdoors with the people she cared for most, whether it was fishing, going on camping trips, or spending time with her beloved grandkids. She was an independent, willful person who could do anything she set her mind to. Ruby had several hobbies to help her pass the time, crocheting blankets, embroidering or riding motorcycles, just to name a few. She also enjoyed staying involved with her CB radio club. A Christian by faith, she was a proud member of the Faith Assembly of God Church. Ruby’s health began to fail and she passed from this life on March 25, 2024 in Tulsa, OK surrounded by the family that loved her.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe Vester Rost, two sisters, Patsy Belvin and Ermma Moody, and one daughter, Vicky Morgan.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons; Danny Rost and wife Sharon, Randy Rost and wife Terry, three brothers; Larry Douglas, Wayne Douglas, and Dale Douglas, one sister; Bobby Jones, her grandchildren; Tammy Vilanj, Rebecca Enkey, Sabryna O’Neil, Elizabeth Rost, and Desirea Deckard. Ruby’s legacy will continue on in her great-grandchildren; Dustion Morgan, Joseph Vilanj, Destiny Vilanj, Abigail Enkey, Duke Enkey, Joseph Night, Elizabeth Deckard, Emily Tidwell, Dean Deckard, and Elliot O”Neil.

A Graveside service for Ruby Louise Rost will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at New Home Cemetery in Peggs, OK at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jason Gann officiating.
