Ronald Keddie was born on June 26th, 1944 in Boston Massachusetts to Edward and Lena (Grenda) Keddie. He had a big heart and cared endlessly for others, which can be seen in his life’s work. He worked for many years as an electrician and was skilled in all types of construction work. Ronald was very industrious, with a creative mind and wonderful craftsmanship; a true Mr. Fix-it. When he wasn’t working, his main passion in life was his dedication as a missionary and immersing himself into the teachings of the Bible and his Christian faith. In Japan, he helped build churches and shared the word of God. Here at home near NSU in Tahlequah, he volunteered his time for hundreds of students from other countries, helping them with their moving, traveling, errands, or however they needed. Many of these students also helped Ronald teach himself Japanese, and they affectionately called him “Ron-San.” Along with these honorable qualities, he was very intrigued in the research of health information and sharing what he learned with others. In his younger years he pursued many interests such as snow skiing, archery, flying, and karate. Ronald was incredibly humble, charitable, and devoted to positive change in this world. This good and faithful servant peacefully met his heavenly father on July 31st, 2021, while surrounded by his loving sons and family. In his 77 years of life, he truly prevailed in his faith-driven mission.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, as well as his brother, Michael Keddie and brother-in-law, Franklin Morris.
His love and kindness lives on in his sons, Robert Keddie of Seguin, TX, Phillip Keddie of San Antonio, TX and David Keddie of Lutz, FL, two brothers, Edward Keddie and wife Cheryl of Clearwater, FL and Richie Keddie of Massachusetts and three sisters, Joan Morris of Hulbert, OK, Linda Sybicki and husband Jack of Massachusetts, and Laurie Keddie of Massachusetts. Those left to cherish his memory include his nieces, Susan Morris of Hulbert, OK and Rosemary Aruda of Tewksbury, MA, his nephew Jimmy Morris of Muskogee, OK, as well as numerous grand nieces and nephews, his very special friend, Dr. John Galdamez of Tahlequah, OK, the many students of Northeastern State University that he befriended over the years and a host of friends and loved ones.
