Roger Eugene Fisher was born on October 21st, 1952 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Ovon and Yvonne (Ross) Fisher. He attended and graduated from Tahlequah High School. He became a welder by profession, a job he really enjoyed. It required a great deal of travel, but for Roger, that was just another chance to make new friends while doing his job. He was a husband to wife Carol and daddy to his son, Roger Dennis and His little girl, Ashley. He loved attending any activity that featured his favorite girls! Roger was an avid OU fan, and never missed a chance to watch his favorite team play! He was a member of Cherokee Masonic Lodge No. 10 in Tahlequah. He traveled all over the USA working, and still enjoyed a trip to Branson for a fun filled weekend or a chance to spend the day at the horse races. He possessed a great sense of humor and was happy and fun to be around. He loved his buddies like family, and enjoyed every chance to tease and heckle his friends. Even in the face of illness, Roger found time to smell the roses, liked to sit outdoors with Carol and watch the golfers and listen to birds singing in the trees. He always had his signature grin on his face and was happy to see you. Roger was proud of his Cherokee heritage. The Lord called this hard working man home from his labors on April 25th, 2016 in Tahlequah, OK with his family by his side. Roger was 63 years old. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Roger has gone home to his mother, his sister, Peggy Cornell, and his grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Carol of the home in Tahlequah, OK, his daughter, Ashley Fisher-Gassaway of Tahlequah, OK, and one son, Roger Dennis Eller and wife Megan McCarren of New York. His legacy lives on in his three grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, and Hayden, as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones. Roger wanted the Hospice of the Cherokee, Dr. Owen Gilmore, and the staff of WW Hastings Hospital to know he greatly appreciated all the tender loving care he received from them while he was here on earth. Until we meet again.
