Rebecca Lee James-Hooper was born on June 28th, 1970 in Claremore, OK, the daughter of Grover and Anna (James) Grover. Grover worked as a minister and Anna was a nurse. Due to Grover being in the ministry, the family relocated a lot. Rebecca became quite good at adapting to new places and people, making friends quickly wherever she went. She was a constant and true friend. She was blessed with the kind of smile that warmed your heart. She lived her life to the fullest and really enjoyed making new friends and staying close to those she already had. She was a homemaker by choice. She loved making a home for her children and her grandchildren. She loved spending her days in the outdoors. Accompanied by her grandchildren, everyday was a new adventure, and she was in the middle of it all. Even with her life at its best, tragically she left this world all too son on June 27th, 2014 , passing with her three year old grandson, her boyfriend Harvey”Frosty” Chase, and her dearest friend, Connie Pritchett. She was only 44 years old. She will be greatly missed by her many friends, family and all those who loved her and knew her. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her loving mother Anna James, her brothers, Wayne and Grover James, one daughter, Brittany Hooper, a nephew, Dakota James and a niece, Shy Anna Gokey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her five children, Corey Hooper, Christian Hooper both of Tahlequah, Kasi Hooper of Park Hill, OK, and Breanna James of Stilwell, OK. She leaves her father, Grover James of Tahlequah, and two sisters, Gail Guerra and Victoria James. Rebecca lives on in her grandchildren, Jayden Henson and Paisley Hooper, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
Rebecca is at rest with the loved ones who have gone on before. There she is with that beautiful smile, hand in hand with Jermiah, together running, laughing, waiting. They are loved dearly and terribly missed.
