Raymond Lee Kirk

Proctor, OK- Funeral services for Raymond Lee Kirk will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Donald McAlvain officiating. Interment will follow at the Pumpkin Hollow Cemetery in Proctor. Visitation for Raymond will be Monday, February 21, 2011 from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM.

Pallbearers for Raymond include Robert Kupsick, Ryan Kirk, Steve Twist, Gerald Millspaugh, Scott Greening, and Kraig Carder. Honorary pallbearers are all of Raymond’s friends and co-workers at Venture Drilling.

Raymond Lee Kirk was born on June 12, 1966 in Tahlequah, OK the son of Robert and Marie (Eden) Kirk. He graduated from Tahlequah High School. Raymond married the love of his life, Melissa Sue Millspaugh on July 27, 2003 in Fayetteville, AR and together they raised their family in Proctor, OK. Raymond worked for Venture Drilling in Tahlequah as a mechanic, a job he dearly loved. When he wasn’t working, Raymond could be found on his farm riding or breaking horses, going on trail rides, or a leisurely ride with his wife and kids. He enjoyed working on motors, cars and tractors. He was a dedicated, hard working man, yet he always found the time to spend with those dearest to him, his family. Raymond was a loving husband, father, brother, son and friend. He was gifted with a great sense of humor and loved to tease and joke those around him. He made sure Mom and Dad were cared for and his children knew how much he loved them. He also shared his affection with his canine companions, Cocoa, Happy and his special companion, Buster. Raymond never gave up trying at anything he set out to do. He kept up the fight until he was called from this life on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Proctor with his family at his side. He was forty four years old. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all those lucky enough to meet this special man.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Kirk, his Aunt Betty Eden, two uncles, Junior and Darrell Kirk, and all of his grandparents.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Melissa of the home, his seven adored children, Justin Kirk of Leach, OK, Frances Millspaugh of Tahlequah, OK, Bethany Kirk of Inola, OK, Shelby Kirk of Tahlequah, OK, Dalton Kirk of Proctor, OK, Hunter Kirk of Proctor, OK, and Madison Kirk of Proctor, OK. His three brothers and three sisters include Danny Kirk and wife Anita of Ft. Gibson, OK, Russell Kirk of Proctor, OK, Monty Kirk of Proctor, OK, Sherry Tounzen and husband Dale of Sallisaw, OK, Gayla Kupsick and husband Ted of Proctor, OK, and Rolita Kirk of Proctor, OK. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.

The family will gather at the Elks Lodge in Tahlequah at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 for dinner prior to services.
