Phillip McIntosh, better known as “Mac” to his family and friends began his journey through life on March 17, 1950 in Tahlequah, OK the son of Emmerson McIntosh and Lucille (Christie) Batt. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force in 1969 where he stayed until his retirement in 1990. During his short, 21-year stay, with the Air Force he was involved in several campaigns, traveling to countless countries and earning numerous medals and accommodations. After retiring from the Air Force he began college but quickly learned he was better suited for an inspector position with Webb Wheel.
In 1991, he met a very special woman Evelyn Gritts and they have been inseparable ever since. Mac always made friends wherever he went and was quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved his family and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. Mac was a perfectionist that did not waste a lot of time, and liked to work alone. Anytime something needed fixing you could be sure to find Mac, from working on cars as the family mechanic, to spending time in the shop on one of many wood working projects. If that wasn’t enough to keep him busy he would take the time to put the perfect touches on his just been mowed lawn. You could say many things about Mac, but you would never be able to say he was lazy, he truly enjoyed working and it was his relaxation. After 74 years of labor, Mac’s health began to fail him and on May 14, 2024 in Oklahoma City, OK surrounded by the family, he loved so much he completed life’s work and left this journey for all those that will miss him so dearly.
His parents and grandparents precede him in death.
