Nina Ruth Winn

Hulbert, OK- Graveside services for Nina Ruth Winn will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Verby Hairod officiating. Visitation for Nina will be held on Sunday, April 4, 2011 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for Nina include her family, Donald Hart, Andrew hart, Brandon Hart, and Josh Briggs.

Nina Ruth Winn was born on June 16, 1920 in Checotah, OK , the daughter of Charles Henry Helm and Pearl Mattie Gibson. On May 8th, 1943, she married the love of her life, James I. Winn in Tulsa, OK. Together, they raised a daughter and a son and enjoyed forty five years of married life together. The family moved from Oklahoma to Wyoming, then Texas, finally settling in Olney, IL. Nina was a LPN by profession. . The most important thing to Nina was her family. She devoted hours to making her children’s clothes and sewing. When she had spare time, Nina enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, a day spent shopping or traveling to see the country. She had a warm and loving heart for people of all ages. Nina supported the Shriners, the DVA, and Feed the Children foundations. A Christian by faith, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Olney, IL. Nina read her Bible and spent time with her Lord daily. Her husband James passed in 1988 and her daughter Sharon Winn passed two years ago. Nina accepted life’s circumstances with the knowledge the Lord loved her and would see her through. The Lord called Nina home from her labors on March 31, 2011 in Tahlequah, OK with her loved ones at her side. Nina was 90 years old. Her family will dearly miss her sweet smile and the loves she showed them daily.

Nina is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her daughter.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, James Keith Winn of Hulbert, OK. Her sister-in-law Florene Parker of Wilson,OK, her nieces, LeAnn Hodges of Ardmore, OK and Mary Franc of Ada, OK, and niece Wallie and husband Verby Hairod of Eufala,and grand niece Tina Ferguson and husband Leath and their children Katlyn and Conner. OK. Her grandchildren include Don and Diana Hart of Hulbert, OK and Seth and Kayla Crow also of Hulbert, OK. Her legacy lives on in her great grandchildren, Donald Ryan Hart, Andrew Hart, Brandon Hart, Josh Briggs, Kianna Crow and Zackary Crow.
