Monica Renee (Morrison) Hilderbrand was born on May 19, 1969 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of J. Gail Merritt and Eddie Morrison and “Bonus Mom” Faye. After graduating high school, she worked various jobs before becoming a dispatcher for a trucking company. Monica married her best friend and love of her life, Timmy Hilderbrand. She was the proud mother of Marus, Josuah and Jessica, along with two bonus children, Timisha and Dyron. With a heart of gold, she loved her children unconditionally and absolutely adored her grandchildren. Monica was their biggest cheerleader and looked forward to any time spent with them or for gatherings with family and friends. During her free time, she could often be found creating graphics on her computer, watching the OU Sooners and the occasional poetry writing. Some of her fondest memories include movie nights with the family, especially if it was her turn to pick the movie. Monica was a Christian by faith and took comfort in her favorite passage of scriptures, Psalm 23. She honored her Cherokee Heritage and was a designated organ donor. On December 13, 2023, she was called from this life to her eternal rest at the age of 54. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Gail Merritt of Broken Arrow, OK, Eddie Morrison and wife Faye of Tahlequah, OK, children, Marcus Glass of Locust Grove, OK, Josuah and wife Ashley of Locust Grove, OK, Jessica Porter and husband Greg of Claremore, OK and bonus children, Timisha Jenkins of Fort Gibson, OK and Dyron Hilderband of Broken Arrow, OK. She leaves one brother, Ronald D. Morrison of Arizona and sister, Jennifer Barker and husband Chris of Wellington, KS. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Kolby Glass and Ashtyn Glass of Jay, OK, Kaidence Crow and Joshua Glass II of Locust Grove, OK, Ryleigh Porter, Brody Porter and Colton Colt Porter of Claremore, OK, nephew, Jacob Morrison of Tahlequah, OK, niece, Cecilee Barker of Wellington, KS, as well as many friends and a host of loved ones.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00am at D D Etchieson United Methodist Church at 412 West Seneca in Tahlequah with Pastor Vinnus Hilderbrand officiating and speaker, Pastor Patrick Freeman.
