Michael Gene Caviness was born on October 26th, 1955 in Bartlesville, OK, the son of JD Caviness and Verna Duffield Caviness. He was one of five sons born to the Caviness family, including Larry, Randy, Ricky, and Stevie. He attended school, but wanted to get a start on life. So he went to work as a painter for Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville. He soon began working in construction and this became his life work. He was a family man, through and through. He was the very proud papa of Michael, Matthew, Jayce, Jacob, and Maddison. Michael was the fun one in the bunch, always ready to enjoy the day doing some hunting and fishing. He was a talented cook and made some of the best deer jerky you ever ate. Michael was a breeder of gaming chickens, raising and breeding a better bird. He was a Christian by faith, and served his Lord and Savior at the Briggs Holiness and Shirley Springs Holiness churches. It was important to Michael that he lead by example, and taught his children about serving the Lord in this manner. When there was time, he was his children and grand children’s biggest fan at every kick boxing and wrestling event he could attend. He had the kind of smile that made you feel right at home, and he had a fantastic sense of humor. Michael was the friend and neighbor that was always there to help you when you needed him. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his labors on February 22nd, 2017 in Tahlequah, OK. He was 61 years old. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, JD Caviness.

Michael lives on in his four grandchildren, Trevor, Trinity, Mattie and Kaiden Caviness all of Tahlequah, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
