Merry Anita Jones

Funeral service for Merry Anita Carpenter-Jones will be held on Wednesday, September 14th, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Boudinot Cemetery with Reverend DJ McCarter officiating. Her visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 13th, 2016 beginning at noon until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. Online condolences for her family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Merry Anita Carpenter-Jones was born on Christmas Day in 1957 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Harold and Maxine (McCarter) Carpenter. She grew up in a household with three brothers, Glen, Stubby, and William and one sister, Carolyn. Upon finishing school, she began her family of one son, Terry Allen Anderson and one daughter, Kelly Christine Anderson. She worked in the food industry as a baker. She loved to curl up with a good book, and watch TV, her favorite shows were educational, animal shows and ghost hunter programs. She loved animals of all kinds, and was always happy to be around them. She had an incredible sense of humor about her, and loved to joke and make others laugh. She loved her three grandchildren, Kelly, James and Johnathan. Every chance to spend with them was her favorite activity. On Christmas Day in 2006, she married the love of her life, Anthony R. Jones in Tahlequah, OK. This union lasted until Merry’s passing on September 9th, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. She was 58 years old. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers, James “Stubby” Carpenter and William Allen Carpenter, and her beloved daughter, Kelly Christine Anderson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Terry Allen Anderson and wife Bobbi Jo of Teresita, OK, one brother, Glen Carpenter of Tahlequah, OK, one sister, Carolyn Buckhorn of Tahlequah, OK, and her three grandchildren, Kelly Christine Anderson, James Allen Anderson and Johnathon Norman Anderson, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
