Marty attended college at the University of Oklahoma where she met the love of her life, Allender O. Scott, Sr. Later they married in her home town of Eufaula on Dec. 20th, 1940. They raised four children together. Marty was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and friend. She always found time to shower attention on her family and friends alike. Marty had a heart of gold faithfully visiting the elderly at the local nursing home, along with showering others with gifts and contributing to overseas charities and prison ministries. Whenever they had time off, Marty and her family enjoyed working in the yard and garden tending to her two goldfish ponds adorned in beautiful water lilies, traveling around to see the sights, or just relaxing around the cinder block/mortar and rebar swimming pool. The family was the most important part of Marty’s life. Marty was a Christian by faith and was an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church. Marty was a staple in the community as a member of the P.E.O. She worked at Tahlequah City Hospital as a Nurse Aid and Unit Secretary until her retirement in 1971. She also taught dance in Tahlequah for many years. She possessed a bright smile and a warm personality that immediately made people feel at home. She enjoyed any chance she got to spend time with her grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. Marty was known for expressing her creativity in her intricate birthday cake designs. The Lord called Marty home on Sunday, December 28th, 2014 at her daughter Jackie’s home in Siloam Springs, AR. She was 95 years old. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
