Marion "Bub" Isaac Gifford

Funeral services for Marion Isaac “Bub” Gifford will be held on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019 at Reed-Culver Chapel at 2:00 PM. His family will receive visitors on Monday, January 21st, 2019 beginning at 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Keener Cemetery along with his family there. Pallbearers include Shannen Gifford, Tyler Gifford, Roger Findahl III, Clay Gifford, Logan Hubbard, and Buster Gifford. His honorary pallbearers include Wayne Garner, Gary Clinton, Mark Linch and Mike Clinton.

Marion Isaac Gifford, or “Bub” to his family and friends, was born on Monday, July 4th, 1949, in Hulbert, OK, the son of Isaac and Ruby June (Shade) Gifford. One of his favorite memories as a child was going to Oregon and picking strawberries and green beans. After high school, he graduated from Okmulgee Technical. He served in the US Army from March 1969 until his honorable discharge in March of 1971 at Ft. Dix, NJ after serving in Germany. He began his working career as a carpenter doing construction work, and would later retire as a Supervisor for Flinto Inc. One of his biggest honors was traveling to Washington DC, accepting the ABC National Award for Construction twice. Bub enjoyed spending time with his family. He was blessed with one son and two daughters, Shannen, Monica and Penny. His nine grandchildren and his five great-grandchildren were always a source of amusement and happiness for Bub. Family Reunions were always a highlight to Bub’s year. He liked to get together and share a story or two. His life-long passion was raising race horses and he enjoyed every moment at the track. He was kind, honest, and always made himself available to help people who needed it. A Christian by faith, he was baptized into the Keener Baptist Church on March of 2016. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his labors on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019 with his family by his side. He was 69 years old. He will be greatly missed.

Bub is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Ruby (Shade) Gifford, grandparents, Miles and Bertha (Berry) Gifford, and Albert and Annie (Smith) Shade.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Shannen Lee Gifford, Monica Rene Gifford and Penny Jane Wolfe. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Danny Gifford, Shirley Pruett, Miles “Wahoo” Gifford, Leroy Gifford, Norma Jean Findahl, Georgia Mae Bowlin, and Buster Gifford. He lives on in his grand and great grandchildren, Jessica Bailey, Brandii Gifford, Tyler Gifford, Aidan Gifford, Kinley Gifford, Andrew Watson, Ashley Fernandez, Alyssa Wolfe and Hunter Wolfe. His great grandchildren include Adison Bailey, Aubree Bailey, Braxton Gifford, Bailey Gifford, and Kylie Fernandez, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
