Margaret “Margo” Nofire was born August 13, 1950, in Tahlequah, OK to Bud and Mary (Holmes) Nofire. A beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, she passed away September 29, 2022, in Tulsa, OK after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother Phillip Nofire, nephew Phillip Nofire Jr. and two brothers-in-law, Ray Andrews, and James Ware.
She is survived by her son David Nofire; husband Jeffery “Jeff” Taylor; sisters Joy Nofire, Sue Ware, Donna Andrews, Peggy Girty, her husband George, Brenda Willey and her husband, Daniel; sister in-law Carla Nofire, niece Sarah Willey Peavler (Kamen); nephews Michael Nofire (Debbie), Gregory Girty (Carol Ann), Brent Girty and Matthew Willey; great nieces Ashley Backwater (Kalen), and Paige Fowler (Joshua); great nephews Gage Girty, Landen Girty, Kelby Girty, and Jacob Girty; and great-great nephew, Keaton Backwater.
She was raised and lived in Tahlequah most of her life. She graduated valedictorian at Sequoyah High school, earned a bachelor’s degree, and began her career working at First National Bank. “Margo,” as she was known to her colleagues and lifelong friends, touched many lives during her outstanding career as a business owner. She was passionate and tireless about her work and was always willing to help others when needed.
Margaret was a devoted, loving mother and enjoyed traveling to Tulsa to visit her son, David. They would attend movies, dine out, and binge watch tv shows on weekends.
She enjoyed spending time with family and hosted yearly holiday gatherings. She was an outstanding cook and baker. Her family enjoyed her delicious homemade casseroles, desserts, pasta salads and her amazing hospitality. Her warm, loving heart was the center of many memorable family gatherings. Margaret was an avid gardener. She had beautiful container gardens and flower beds. She also grew vegetables, sharing her crop with family. She even canned vegetables like her Mother had for many years.
Margaret leaves behind memories filled with joy and love. She will always be known for her generosity. Her loss leaves an enormous hole in the hearts of those who loved her.

Family and friends are invited to visitation scheduled for Monday, October 3, 2022, from 2:00 to 6 p.m.
The private graveside service will be held on October 4, 2022.
