Funeral services for Joseph Lee Caviness will be held on Monday, March 6th, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Reverend Paul Starkey officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3rd, 2017 from noon until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will be held at Caney Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jimmy Matlock, Brandon Matlock, Matt Cardell, Allan Comer, Clayton Ingram, and Mark Mongold. Honorary pallbearers include Paul Beavers, Luther Dallas, Ricky Caviness, Jason Caviness and Billy Bauman.
Joseph Lee Caviness, or Jo Jo to his friends and family, was born on October 11th, 1989, in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Steven and Kimberly (Allen) Caviness. He attended school in Hulbert, Briggs, and Tahlequah High School. When he was home relaxing, he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends, outdoors with a fishing pole headed to the creek or out for the day, hunting. He really enjoyed a game of horseshoes and riding motorbikes. He was sweet and a wonderful sense of humor. He loved people and was always happy to see you when you came to visit. He was happy to gather with his family for a holiday to share a meal and a day of playing games. Joseph passed way too soon from this life on February 28th, 2017 at the age of 27 at his home in Tahlequah, OK. He will be greatly missed.
Joseph is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lula Bell and Forest Allen, and JD Caviness and his uncle, Michael Caviness.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving parents, Steve and Kimberly Caviness of the home, grandmother, Verna Caviness of Tahlequah, OK, two nieces, Kasey Comer and Melanie Comer and a cousin, Allan Comer. He also leaves his uncles, Larry Caviness and companion Vicki Ross, Randy Caviness and Ricky Caviness and wife JoAnn all of Tahlequah, OK, one aunt, Donna Comer, as well as many cousins, Friends, and loved ones.
