Joe Raymond Coffee

Funeral services for Joe Raymond Coffee will be held on Monday, October 1st, 2018 at 1:00 Pm at Reed-Culver Chapel with Reverend Rubin Conley officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28th, 2018 beginning at noon until 6:00 Pm at Reed-Culver Chapel. He will be laid to rest next to his mother, at Hendricks cemetery in Tahlequah, OK. Pallbearers for Joe include Joe Lutz, Modesto Inglesias, Devon Gordon, Garry Jennings, Lonnie Berry and Charles Allen. Honorary pallbearer is Jim Robinson.

Joe Raymond Coffee was born on Friday, January 22nd, 1954, in Tulsa, OK, the son of Willard JR and Lillie Mae (Fish) Coffee. He attended and graduated high school in Tahlequah, and then began his college classes at NSU. He operated a car dealership with his brother, Joe Whitehead, in the Tulsa area. There wasn’t anything these two gentlemen didn’t do together, they were best friends. Joe had a love of drag racing, a hobby he enjoyed all of his lifetime. He enjoyed unspeakable times with his many friends. He always took care of his family, friends, and all of his fur babies. He insisted the reason we were on the earth was to look out for each other, and he did. If ever anyone needed something to eat, a place to rest or just a friendly smile, Joe was happy to share what he had. He was easy going and a fun friend to be around. Family gatherings were always a special treat for Joe. He was a Christian by faith and attended the World Outreach Center in Tulsa. He passed from this life on Friday, September 21st, 2018 in Tahlequah, OK, following a brief illness. He was 64 years old and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Bud and Eliza (Crow) Fish and his mother and father.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Joe M. Whitehead of Tahlequah, one daughter, Kristi Jo Lynn of Cookson, OK, and his three stepbrothers, Harold Wayne Smith Jr. of Greenwood, AR, Terry Smith of Ft. Smith, AR, and Donny Smith of Greenwood, AR. There are also two unadopted sisters, Debra Settlemyre of Hulbert, OK and Linda Salta of Tulsa, OK. He leaves two adored granddaughters and a beloved canine companion, Bullett Coffee, as well as many cousins, one niece, Amanda Jo Reed of Salt Lake City, UT, and a host of friends and loved ones.
