Janis Sue (Guinn) Dols was born May 18, 1952 in Rosewood, Oregon, the daughter of Arthur Lee “Junior” Guinn and Betty Lou (Shovers) Meadows, along with her stepfather, Zethel “Buddy” Linville Meadows. Janis grew up to enjoy the beautiful lakes and scenery of the Pacific Northwest. Later in life, she then relocated to Oklahoma and began work at Sequoyah State Park as a waitress for many years. Janis made lifelong friends during her time there before retiring. A bit of a private person, she enjoyed relaxing in the quiet of her home. She had a very tight-knit circle of friends that meant the world to her and was especially close to her mother, Betty Lou. She loved her cats dearly; she would choose her cats over a man any day. When she would go out for fun, she liked to hit up the Casino, one of her favorite pastimes. She traveled to different casinos alongside her friend, Erma, visiting places such as Shreveport Casino in Louisiana, Horseshoe Casino and Harris Casino in Tennessee. Now and again, she would live life on the wild side, testing the limit behind the wheel of a sports car. To those who had the opportunity to get to know Janis, knew she would do anything for them. They loved her fun personality; always joking and making others laugh. One thing was for sure, she was not afraid to share her thoughts and ideas with anyone. Janis underwent multiple challenges with her health and lost a piece of her heart with the passing of her mother. On Monday, February 5, 2024, Janis passed from this life while in the comfort of her home at the age of 72 years old. She will be missed by her many friends and always remembered for the joy and laughter she brought to others.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother and stepfather.
