TAHLEQUAH, OK- Funeral services for Janet Sue Harvey will be held on Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 at the Philadelphia Bible Church in Tahlequah, Ok with Pastor David Roberts officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 6th, 2011 from noon until 8:00 PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Blue Springs/Gideon Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Janet was born on November 5th, 1952 in Tulsa, OK the daughter of Charlie and Margaret (Thompson) Harvey. When she graduated from high school, she set about raising her family of two son and two daughters, Steven, Misty, Adam, and Amy in Farmersbranch, TX until moving to Tahlequah in 1982. Janet was never one to sit while the world passed her by. She was employed at KC Harris Burgers for years as well as the desk clerk at Super Inn and Suites in Tahlequah. Janet was gifted with an easy personality and a friendly smile, which she shared with everyone she met. She never met a stranger for long that she wasn’t addressing them by first name. Janet loved to go for a walk with friends or a bike trip There were many good books to read and think about. . She loved to spend the day with her family and friends and was instrumental in keeping everyone informed of the life events in their family. She had enrolled at NSU and completed her BS. A Christian by faith, she attended Philadelphia Bible Church and remained active serving God throughout her adult life.Her health began fading on Janet and she wasn’t able to complete her work as she had hoped, but Janet kept up the faith .Janet went home to her Lord and Savior on December 4th, 2011 in Tahlequah, OK . Janet was 59 years old. She will be greatly missed by the many family and friends whose lives she has touched over the years.
Janet is preceded in death by her mother and father.
Those left to cherish Janet’s memory include her four children, Steven Hooper and companion Sharon Comer of Claremore, OK, Misty Spankowski of Tahlequah, OK, Adam Hooper of Hutchison, KS, and Amy Feather of Tahlequah. She leaves two sisters and one brother, Sandra Maggard and husband Lonnie of Chelsea, OK, Jennifer Wells and husband Gary of Tahlequah, OK and Rickey “Bruce” Harvey of Chouteau, OK and her son-in-law Nick Spankowski, of Tulsa, OK. Her legacy will carry on in her nine grandchildren, Jacob Parsley, Matthew Feather, Cody Parsley, Jennifer Feather-Lindly, Kelly Parsley, Joshua Feather, Sara Feather, Hunter Spankowski, and Paige Feather , as well as her two great grandchildren, Ella Parsley and Kiley Lindly as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
