James Douglas Tucker Jr., or Doug to his many family and friends, was born on November 28th, 1955 in Tulsa, Ok, the son of James Douglas and Patricia Ann (McClanahan) Tucker Sr. He was raised with one brother, Steve and three sisters, Vicki, Cynthia, and Tami. He attended and graduated from Claremore High School in 1974. He met and married the love of his life and his best friend, Regina Bishop on July 16th, 1977, in Claremore, OK. This union was blessed with 40 years of memories and three children, Jeff, Tricia, and Kendra. He earned his living as a boilermaker, and was a hardworking, dedicated employee for over 35 years. He had many wonderful memories made with his Boilermaker Brothers. Whenever he had spare time, he loved being outdoors, camping and doing a little fishing. When football season rolled around, you couldn’t find a more faithful Sooner fan than Doug. You could always find him with his little buddy Scobby, relaxing to a little country music, some George Jones, Elvis, or he and his wife’s favorite group, the Steve Miller Band. He was blessed with three grandchildren that filled him with pride, Konnor, Brett, and Makenzie, the apples of Papa’s eye. He loved every minute he spent with them, sharing a weekend or a holiday. He loved working out in his yard and was known to pull the occasional prank on his friends and family, sharing a laugh or two. Doug was a Christian by faith and always made time for the family and friends that needed him. He was kind and patient, always ready to lend a hand. Dougs health began to fail him, and in spite of his best efforts to get well, the Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his labors on March 20th, 2018 at his home in Tahlequah with his loved ones by his side. He was 62 year old. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Doug is preceded in death by his mother, father, and his grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Regina of the home in Tahlequah. He leaves his children, Jeff Tucker and wife Mandy of Peggs, OK, Tricia Tucker of Tahlequah, and Kendra Tucker also of Tahlequah, OK. His brother and sisters include Steve Tucker of Eucha, OK, Vicki London of Tulsa, OK, Cynthia Tucker Brooks of Oklahoma City, and Tami Harner of Grove, OK. He lives on in his three adored grandchildren, Konnor Shelley, Brett Tucker, and Mackenzie Tucker as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
