Henry Lee Clinton

Funeral services for Henry Lee Clinton will be held on Wednesday, August 16th, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Jerry Christie and Pastor Joe Christie officiating. Visitation is Tuesday, August 15th, 2017 beginning at noon until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. Burial will be held at Downing Cemetery in Adair County. Pallbearers for Henry include Jon Roberts, Dwayne Patterson, Jeff Vaughn, Josh Johnson, Charley Goldman, and Brandon Garner. His honorary pallbearers include Bobby Patterson, Logan Bush, Mason Bush, Joe Bush, and James St. Pierre.

Henry Lee Clinton, or “Coke” to his many friends, was born on May 15th, 1941 in Baron, OK in Adair County, the son of Frank and Minnie (Stansill) Clinton. He joined a household with five sisters and two brothers. He graduated from Westville High School and began his career as a self-employed plumber and electrician, under the name Henry Clinton Plumbing. He was a happy go lucky kind of guy, who was never without a smile of a friendly greeting. He loved everybody. When he had some spare time on his hands, he loved to go hunting, especially for wild turkey and travel to old Mexico to do a little fishing. On June 30th, 2005, he married Jeannie F. Christie. Together they enjoyed many years of family and love together. Family was very important to Coke. He had two sons and one daughter and two step children he adored. He loved any chance to gather with his grandchildren and enjoy their company. He was the loving husband, father, and grandfather everyone would like to have known. He was a member of Prayer House Church here in Tahlequah. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his labors on Saturday, August 12th, 2017 in Tahlequah, OK with his family by his side. He was 76 years old. He will be greatly missed.

Coke is preceded in death by his mother, father, and his brother, Frank Clinton and five sisters, Jennie Reed, Jewel Christine Roberts, Linda Sue Rackliff, Juanita Gifford, and Ollie Patterson. He also joins two sons, Michael and Stephen Clinton and one step daughter, Donna Bush.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Jeannie of the home in Cookson. He is also survived by one daughter, Lori Clinton of Stilwell, OK, and his stepson, Joe Bush and wife Lisa of Tahlequah. He lives on in his seven grandchildren, five step grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
