Harold Wayne Sams was born on July 28, 1949 in Prairie Grove, AR, the son of Freeman Lee and Jewell Lee (Teague) Sams. Harold grew up with two brothers and two sisters, Steve, Chris, Linda, and Carol. After graduating High School, Harold joined the United States Army. He served in Korea and Vietnam, earning the rank of Specialist, before his honorable discharge in 1969. On November 21st, 1973 he married the love of his life, Janice Lee Seratt in Haskell County, KS. He began working for Mobil Oil Corporation where he spent over 30 years. When Harold wasn’t working, he enjoyed time spent at home with his family, watching his favorite sport teams, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Oklahoma Sooners. Harold was a simple, easy going man, from sharing a laugh or two around friends or spending time outdoors. On April 21st, 2019, Harold passed from this life at the age of 69 with his family by his side. He will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Janice Sams.
He is survived by his two sons, Marcus Sams and wife Ami and Brett Sams and wife Phelicia of Tahlequah, OK, two brothers, Steve Sams and Chris Sams and wife Rhonda of Tahlequah, OK and two sisters, Linda Huntington of Tahlequah, OK and Carol Martin and husband Edward of Tulsa, OK. His memory lives on through his grandchildren, Hailey, Bennett, Zachary, Colin, Tyler, and Christian Sams along with Skyler, Martika, Antonio, and Toby Roberts, as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces and a host of friends and loved ones.
