Floyd Andrew Morris was born on April 3rd, 1948, in Utah, the son of Floyd Elvis and Mary Octavia (Ward) Morris. He grew up with three sisters and one brother, and graduated from Sterling, KS High School , then served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri. Floyd was not the kind of person to let the grass grow under his feet. He worked as a mechanic fixing cars, engaged in chicken farming, and worked in landscaping. He liked to gather with his friends whenever he had the chance, perhaps watching OU football. He enjoyed time spent fishing at his favorite spot or hunting deer, squirrels, and rabbits. The best part would be camping out under the stars afterward. He was always ready to take someone on in a friendly game of poker or a game of dominoes. If he was resting at home, you could find him indulging his love of westerns, anything with John Wayne or Gunsmoke would do just fine. He was fun loving and liked to tease. He was always ready to get the family all together for a holiday or just to spend the day talking. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Floyd enjoyed a little quiet time with his sweetheart Carol, and their canine companions, Petey, Katniss, and Chico. His health began to fail him and Floyd passed from this life on Tuesday, September 19th, 2017 in Tulsa, OK surrounded by those who loved him. Floyd was 69 years old. He will be greatly missed.
