Edgar Allen Scott Sr.

Tahlequah, OK- Funeral services for Edgar Allen Scott Sr. will be held on Thursday, September 8th, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Echota Baptist Church in Stilwell, OK. Pastor Gary Leach will officiate. Interment will follow at Echota Cemetery in Stilwell, OK. Services have been entrusted to Reed- Culver Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for Edgar include Robert Holloway Jr., Richard Scott, Frank Lowery, Derek Unger, Kevin Scott, and Albert Dreadfulwater. Honorary pallbearer will be Nathan Bunch.

Edgar Allen Scott Sr. was born on November 4th, 1942 in Tahlequah, OK the son of Hickey and Anna (Christie) Scott. He graduated from Cave Springs High School. Edgar was a hard working man, he worked numerous jobs, his last being at Greenleaf Nursery near Tahlequah. He married Rosielee Dreadfulwater on June 10th, 1962, and together they raised their children in Stilwell, OK. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed an afternoon spent fishing. He loved to visit, and could tell a really good joke or story about the good ole days. He liked working on cars, especially his own. His favorite day was spent in the company of his children, grandchildren, and family. They were precious to him. His health failed him several years ago and he moved to the Davis Nursing Center for continued care. A Jehovah’s Witness by faith, he passed from this life on September 2, 2011 in Tulsa, OK. He was sixty-eight years old. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Edgar is preceded in death by his parents, his son Brian in 1985, his wife Rosielee Scott in 2005, one sister, Edna Marie Bunch and three brothers, Buffalo Scott, Oaks Scott, and Baby Boy Scott.

Those left to cherish his memory include his three children, Daughter Sandra and husband Frank Lowery of Stilwell, OK, son Edgar Scott Jr., also of Stilwell, and daughter Vicki McLemore and husband Cameron also of Stilwell, OK. He leaves four brothers and sisters, Joanna Hester of Claremore, OK, Mildred Smith of Stilwell, OK, George Scott and wife Janice of Stilwell, OK and Richard Scott and wife Irene of Littleton, CO. Edgar’s legacy lives on in his seven grandchildren, Robert Holloway Jr. and wife Heather, Alanna Warrior and husband Lucian, Derek Unger, Michaela McLemore, C.J. McLemore Jr., and Caiden McLemore. There are two great grandchildren, Abilene Nofire and Draven Nofire as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
