Tahlequah, OK – Funeral s Services for Della Rebecca (Davis) Shepard will be held on Thursday, October 31st, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Rev. Clayton Sellers Officiating. Visitation for Becky will be held on Wednesday, October 30th for 10:00 AM until 8:00pm at Reed Culver Chapel. Interment will be held at Mollie Fields Cemetery in Tahlequah, OK. Pallbearers for Becky include Brian Welch, Paul Collins, Daniel Hamme, Randall Welch, Ronnie Davis, and Benjamin Ragsdale. Her honorary pallbearers include Ray Perry, Roy Pack, and many beloved grandsons.
Della Rebecca Shepard was born on December 20th, 1929 in Barber, OK the daughter of George Davis and Melvina Hammons. She married the love of her life, the late Cletus Alfred Shepard. This union was blessed with ten children. Becky was a loving mother and enjoyed every moment spent with her family. She was always very down to earth and brightened everyone’s day with her lively personality. Becky delighted in being a homemaker by canning fresh vegetables from her garden, sewing, and quilt making. She cooked the best cornbread, dressing, and fried taters. Becky loved to fish and listening to different types of music from country to classical. Becky was called home on October 25th, 2013 at her home in Welling, OK. She was 83 years old. She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Becky is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Cletus Alfred Shepard, one son William E. Shepard, one daughter, Linda Shepard, one Son-in-law, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five brothers, and three sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her four sons, Alfred C. and Shirley Shepard of Springdale, AK, Billy Eugene and Lorina Shepard of Tahlequah, OK, Delbert Lee Shepard of Welling, OK and Brian Keith and Angie Shepard of Muskogee, OK; four daughters, Bertha Marie and Bobby Blair of Woodall, OK, Lucille and Larry Oosahwe of Tahlequah, OK, Angela Emaline and John Weatherly of Ft. Smith, AK and Betty Jo and Ed James of McAlester, OK. Her legacy lives on in her twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren and a multitude of friends and loved ones.
