He attended and graduated from Hulbert High School. He would then decide on a career in the entertainment industry while demonstrating his love for the Cherokee traditions. He became an actor and dancer, traveling the Pow Wow circuit all over the continental United States of America, and parts of the world as well. He worked with such known performers as Michael Jackson and Burt Reynolds. He loved teaching people about his beloved Cherokee traditions, dances, and never lost the chance to show them, through his craft. He loved people and especially children. There was something about David that was so easy to talk to and he had the knack of making people smile and laugh. There was always the chance to have a BBQ and watch people eat and enjoy the day. He moved to North Carolina, the Wilmington Reservation , and always looked forward to visiting his family in Oklahoma. He was so very proud of his family and especially his nieces, they were his pride and joy. He is a very familiar face in the movies Perfect Daughter, Dances With Wolves, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Chuck Norris Texas Ranger and danced with his Pow Wow group in Michael Jackson’s video Black or White. He had a deep sense of spirituality, and never lost the chance to pray and meditate. His life’s journey ended on November 26th, 2020 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 68 years.
