David Tracy Hembree

Funeral services for David Tracy Hembree will be held on Thursday, April 6th, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Charles Duvall officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 at Reed-Culver Chapel from noon until 6:00 PM. Interment will be held at Boudinot Cemetery. Pallbearers include Floyd DeGease, Lewis Ritchie, Chris Hembree, Casey Hembree, Bo Adams, and Rodney Hiatt. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Kirk, Chance Welch, Dylan Adams, and Sonny Cochran.

David Tracy Hembree was born on June 17th, 1946 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Tracy Custer and Ethel Marie (Grimm) Hembree. David attended school in Tahleqauh. He met and married his wife, Sharon Kay Jones on May 4th, 1966 in Columbus, KS, and together they enjoyed 40 years together and raised their daughter, Alisha Hembree. David and his family resided in Oklahoma City until David began his career in construction. The family then traveled the country together, with David working construction and his family keeping him company. After he retired in 1979, Woodall became the family home. David loved landscaping his property and working on it every spare moment he had. When he wasn’t landscaping, there was nothing better than the day spent fishing with his son-in-law, Lewis Ritchie and his buddies. Colder days were spent relaxing in front of the TV and spending quality time with his grandsons, Brandon and Wade was always at the top of his list. Sharon passed from this life on January 16th, 2006. David continues on but life was never quite the same without his lovely Kay. A Christian by faith, David was baptized at Barber Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member and deacon for many years. His health began to fail him and was called to his eternal home on March 24th, 2017 in Muskogee, OK with his loved ones by his side. He was 70 years old. He will be greatly missed for all the love he gave to those who knew him best.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother Larry Hembree.

Those left to cherish David’s memory include his beloved daughter, Alisha J. Hembree and companion Jessie Kirk of Welling, OK. He lives on in his two grandsons, Brandon Kirk Hembree and Wade Lewis Ritchie and wife Felicia, and one granddaughter, Alyssa Kay Ritchie and Companion Chance Welch. David lives on in his great grandchildren, Kaden Ritchie and Haley Ritchie and Ryker Welch and his ex-son-in-law, Lewis Ritchie as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
