Cody Lee McClendon II

Cody Lee McClendon II was born on August 26th, 1949 in Tulsa, Ok, the son of Cody Lee and Ruby Jean (Mullins) McClendon. He was raised with his brothers and sisters, Jerry, Floyd, Justin, Barney, Charlotte, Carolyn, and Judy. He decided on a job as a truck driver, which was a lifelong dream, and remained a truck driver for the remainder of his career. He loved driving the open road and traveling the countryside. When he wasn’t driving he was at home with the woman he adored, his beloved wife Pat. Together they raised a family of two sons and two daughters, Cody Lee III, Thomas Barnes, Peggy Williams and Celena Shout. When he wasn’t working, he was at home spending time with the people he loved most, his children and grandchildren. There was nothing better than a day spent fishing or camping under the stars,. He liked riding his motorcycle, and loved rolling down the high way, wind in his hair and the hum of the tires in his ears. He was never too tired or too busy to listen to the kids when they had something to say. They made him smile. The best friends in his life were his grandkids, Dalton, Derrick, Anna, Cody, Ariel, TJ and Matthew were all he needed for a good time and a fun holiday. His beloved Patricia died and Cody was never quite the same. He spent his days with his family and missing his best friend. His health began to fade and he made many trips to Dallas keeping his health for as long as possible. Cody lost his health on August 6th, 2022 in Dallas with his loved ones close to his side. He was 72 years old. He leaves an empty chair at the table that can never be filled.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents,Fred and Nellie (Foster) McClendon and Elmer and Bertha (Cochran) Mullins, his mother and father, his son, Thomas Barnes,brother Floyd and his granddaughters, Patricia and Randi and his beloved wife and best friend, Patricia.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Cody Lee McClendon III of Stigler, Peggy Williams of McAlester, OK and Celena Shrout of Stigler, OK. His brothers and sisters include Jerry McClendon of Stilwell, Justin McClendon and wife Melinda of Watts, OK, Barney McClendon and wife Anita of Westville, OK, Charlotte Coiner and husband David of Brandson, MO, Carolyn Harper of Stilwell, OK, and Judy Patton and husband Ramon of Decatur, AR. He will live on in his adored grandchildren, Dalton McClendon, Derrick Cheater, Anna Cheater, Cody Lee McClendon IV, Ariel Shrout, TJ Lemmons, and Matthew Barnes, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, eleven great grandchildren, and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.

Funeral services for Cody Lee McClendon II will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Cedar Tree Church with Brother Wes Flaugh officiating. He will be laid to rest at Cedar Tree next to his wife Patricia (Masters) McClendon. Pallbearers for Cody include Dalton McClendon, Derrick Cheater, Cody McClendon IV, Floyd McClendon, Anthony York, and JD McClendon. His honorary pallbearers include Travis Patton, Jade Jones, Tim York, Terrance Nofire, Shannon McClendon, Jason Vance, and Larry Masters.
