Carol Ann Spangler was born on September 29, 1949 in Enid, Oklahoma the daughter of Evain and Virginia (Campbell) Veit. After high school, Carol graduated from Hunter High School in 1968 and graduated from Enid Business School. On September 27, 1980, she married the love of her life, Ted Spangler at the First Lutheran church of Tahlequah. Together, they raised their daughter, Shannon. Carol worked as a realtor with the John Hauser reality company. She loved taking care of the clients and will be greatly missed by many. When she wasn’t working, Carol was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She was exceptionally talented at crafting , sewing, and quilting. The occasional fishing trip and day in the garden was always enjoyable for Carol. She was a devoted member of the First Lutheran Church of Tahlequah and was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and has served in the capacity of Vice President in the Oklahoma Division. Carol’s family was always first and foremost with her. Carol was called to her eternal rest on Monday, August 23, 2010 in Tahlequah following a lengthy illness. Carol was 60 years old. She will be missed by her many friends and loved ones.
Carol is preceded in death by her father, Evain Veit, her twin sister, Merrill Veit, and her grandparents, William and Frieda Veit and Monroe and Marie Campbell.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of thirty one years, Ted Spangler of the home, her daughter, Shannon Gibson and husband Jason of Tahlequah, OK, her brother, Dean Veit of Canadian, TX , her sister, Karma Warren and husband Dave of Wichita, KS and her brother-in-law, Allen Spangler and wife Adrianna of Spring, TX. Carol’s legacy lives on in her three grandchildren, Mason Gibson, Brittany Gibson, Luke Gibson and great grandson, Bradley Schnitzer. She also leaves one niece, Emily Warren, and two nephews, David Warren and Trevor Spangler and her special canine companion, Ringer.
