Bonny Ruth Hughes

Bonny Ruth Symon-Hughes was born on August 25th, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She had two brothers and one sister in the household, Gordon, Jeffrey and Florence. Bonny went to work for American Airlines and moved from New York to Tulsa, OK. It is here where she met the love of her life, Michael Edward Hughes (Mike), and his children, Debbie and Michael. Work moved them to Arlington, TX. The two were married in 1987 in Las Vegas, NV. Together they loved traveling to the beach and islands in the Caribbean. When not working, she loved being at home by the pool, cooking, and spending time with Mike and their much-loved dog, Dobby. She kept up with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews lives and enjoyed hearing about what they were doing. Besides being and great cook she enjoyed knitting and made many blankets that kept members of her family warm. She had a warm smile and a kind heart. She loved her family and friends and was always ready to offer advice for any situation. If you were her friend you were her friend for life. Her health began to fade the last few years and she passed from this life on September 11th, 2022 in Tahlequah, OK. She was 73 years old and will be truly missed.

Bonny is preceded in death by her grandparents, mother, father, step-father, her husband Mike, and her brother Gordon.

Bonny will be lovingly remembered by her step-children Deborah Aloisio and husband Rob of Tulsa, OK, Michael Hughes and wife Kathryn of Tahlequah, OK, brother Jeffery Symon and wife Suzie of Palos Verdes, CA and her sister Florence Symon Gonzalez of Davenport, FL. In addition, her grandchildren Jacob Keathley, Adam Keathley, Kaleb Hughes and Katelyn Hughes as well as niece Stephanie Gonzalez and nephews Paul Gonzalez, Jeffrey Symon and Jeremy Symon. She lives on in the memories of us all.

Bonny chose a private family service for her final remembrance.
