Amy Lynn Ackerman was born on Friday, August 6th, 1976 in Muskogee, OK, the daughter of Rolla and Patsy (Russell) Ackerman. She grew up with three brothers and four sisters, Paul, James, William, Betty, Nancy, Janis, and Cathy. She graduated from Locust Grove High School and was featured every year in the Who’s Who for her academic achievement. She processed a compassionate and generous heart; known to give all she could to others before worrying about herself. Amy was quiet, but she had a wicked sense of humor that brought laughter to everyone around her. She liked to spend time with her friends whether swimming at the creek, throwing darts with the local league, or just visiting. Above all else, she loved her children, Ethan and Ellie. Amy went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 8th at the age of 43. The love she had for others will carry on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother William Dollarhide, and two sisters Janis Rodrigez, and Cathy Dollarhide.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Ethan and Elliott “Ellie” Ackerman of Tahlequah, OK, two brothers, Paul Dollarhide of Peggs, OK, and James Dollarhide of Locust Grove, OK, two sisters, Betty Swickhammer of Rich Hill, MO, and Nancy Orear of Tahlequah, OK and eight nieces and nephews, Emily and Shane Dollarhide, Julia Kilpatrick, Jr. and Bump Orear, Jadyn Swickhammer, Janie Miller, and Patty Jo Rodrigez as well as friends and a host of loved ones too numerous to mention.
