Ken was born on September 29, 1935, to Kenneth and Lilian Fletcher in Seattle. He graduated from Kodiak High School in Alaska and later received his bachelor's degree in business from Chaminade University in Honolulu. He married Mary Elizabeth Spellecy in 1957, who became the mother of all his
children and supported his career up until their divorce. Ken served in the U.S. Navy and Air Force. After climbing through the enlisted ranks in the Air Force to receive his commission, he became a pilot. He then served as a flight instructor before flying over two hundred air reconnaissance combat missions during the Vietnam conflict, working in intelligence at Hickam Air Force Base before retiring in Hawai'i after 22 years of total service at the rank of Major. After a short stint in construction, Ken returned to aviation as a pilot and later General Manager for Panorama Air Tours in Honolulu.
Living in Washington again for his later years, he was Regional Sales Manager of water purification systems as well as an enthusiastic yachtsman and world traveler. Ken was an active member of the Gig Harbor, WA Eagles Aires #2809 & Vagabond RV Club since 2011. His survivors are second wife Karen, brother Larry, sons Marty, William and Damon, daughter Mary Beth and grandchildren Holly, Jessica, Damon, Brandon, Marina and great-grandson Jackson. His son Francis and daughters Rose and Susie awaited him in heaven. Many will miss his smile and friendly way of interacting with everyone he met.
