Wesley Shuler, Sr., 77, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday at home. Wesley was born November 3, 1932 in Bowman, SC to the late Brunson, Sr. and Lizzi Dora Shuler where he attended the South Carolina School System. In life he was employed by Jim Alabrandi Construction for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as in his earlier years fishing and being a part of the Mason organization.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Vernell Jennings; sons, Wesley (Terri) Shuler, Jr., Bernard (Dorcus) Shuler and Anthony (Kim) Shuler; daughters, Delphine Shuler and Valerie (Robert) Horton; brothers-in-law, Marion Davis and Sammie Lee (Louise) Jennings of SC; sisters-in-law, Ossie Bell (Clarence) Patterson of Pembroke, GA, Mary Lee Jennings, Mary Alice Dewberry of Syracuse and Thelma Shuler of SC; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held, Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 372 West Matson Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13205 with the funeral service to follow at noon. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
