Vincent J. Gualtieri

Vincent J."Uncle Jim" Gualtieri, 99, of Syracuse passed away Sunday at James Square. He was born in Syracuse, lived in Lyncourt for many years and most recently at Park Rose Estates. Vincent retired from Edward Joy Lighting where he worked for 22 years. He was a communicant of St. Daniel’s Church, a veteran of WWII US Army and a member of the American Legion Eastwood Post 1276. He is predeceased by his wife, Rose (Costa) Gualtieri and brother, Dr. Guy M. Walters.

Survivors include his sisters-in-law, Cora Costa, Sarah Pontillo and Katie Walters; nieces and nephews, Joseph P., Joseph C., Carmen, Jr., and Mary Lou Costa, Frank, Dan, and Susan Pontillo, Robert and Allan Walters; several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday 11:30 a.m. at Farone & Son Funeral Home and 12:10 p.m. in St. Daniel’s Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park St.
